The almighty brussel sprout is a great source of vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber.

It is also one of the hardest vegetables to get people of all ages to eat!

I’d like to share this easy brussel sprouts recipe, in hopes to gain some more fans for this amazing veggie.

I picked this up from a live video training client. She was visiting from Texas and wanted to cook my family and I dinner.

It was so delicious I shared it with another trainer, who shared it with their client.

She boasted that even her kids loved it! 😀

‘Deconstructed Brussel Sprouts’

Ingredients:

15 to 20 brussel sprouts

2 teaspoons of olive oil

½ teaspoon crushed sea salt

Step 1: Pre-heat oven to 400.

Step 2: Cut off the base of the brussel sprouts and remove the tough outer leaves.

Step 3: Once your brussel sprouts are trimmed, start pulling all the leaves off of each brussel

sprout from the bottom. If they are hard to remove, try trimming the base a little more.

Step 4: Spread leaves on a cookie sheet and lightly drizzle with olive oil. Stir until they are coated evenly.

Step 5: Season. This is where you can have some fun! You can simply use sea salt and/or add your favorite seasoning blend.

Step 6: Bake for 8 to 12 minutes until edges are golden brown and leaves are tender.

Check on them once or twice during cooking. Some brussel sprouts have thinner leaves and will cook faster.

Bonus tip: Chicken wings also bake at 400 degrees.  Bake wings for 40 minutes. Start the  brussel sprouts with 12 minutes remaining.

Add your favorite whole grain carb and you have a delicious, easy meal the whole family will enjoy!
