9.2013 Stacie MartinComplete Fitness Results would like to congratulate Stacie Martin as September’s CFR Smarty of the Month! She has trained with Dave for 3 years and has never been late or missed a workout! Anyone who has met Stacie knows she has a strength, both physically and mentally, that can’t be broken. She always puts 110% into each workout and never says no! Her dedication and hard work inspire other members to put in that extra effort and focus. CFR is so thankful she is part of our community.

Stacie was kind enough to write about her journey to success.  Continue reading and you will see why she is such an amazing person!

Many people may not know it, but I actually lost 104 pounds before ever coming to CFR.  I did it all on my own through diet and exercise.  Since coming to CFR, I have actually gained weight—“mostly” all muscle mass.

There wasn’t really any specific event that got me started.  I was just tired of being overweight.  I’m the type of person who hates to lose a game or fail at a task.  So, once I started losing weight, I was hooked and had to keep going until I hit my goal.  Every pound I lost motivated me to keep going.  Now the fear of gaining the weight back motivates me to stay on top of my diet and keep working out.

As you can imagine, before losing the weight I was not a very active person.  I had never been in a gym to workout.  Coming to CFR was harder mentally than physically.  In my mind, I was still that overweight person who couldn’t be successful in a gym full of fit people.  Now I am at CFR 5 days a week and I love every minute of it!  In addition to working out at CFR, I bike, swim, and run 5K races on a regular basis.

I do whatever I can to make my workouts a priority.  It’s way too easy to skip a workout.  I have days that I don’t feel like working out but I do it anyway.  No matter how tired I might be, either mentally or physically, I always feel better after a great workout.

So much of my success is because of Dave.  Dave is always supportive and encouraging while challenging me with every workout.  He has transformed my body as well as my mind and brought out a confidence in myself that I never had.  Now, working out is something that I enjoy and look forward to instead of being a chore to complete.

Stacie thanks for all your hard work and dedication. Congratulations!
